The Drôme Wine Route is an invitation to discover the region’s winegrowing treasures. Winding through the heart of the vineyards, this route takes you from cellar to cellar, offering you the chance to taste the region’s different appellations, such asHermitage and Crozes Hermitage.
Drôme Provençale, in particular, offers a rich palette of wines. These include Côtes du Rhône, including the premier cru “Vinsobres”, AOP Grignan-les-Adhémar, Coteaux des Baronnies, Vin de la Valdaine and Comté de Grignan. Each of these wines has distinct aromas, reflecting its terroir of origin.
Vinsobres is a remarkable cru, distinguished by its singularity. To taste a Vinsobres is to take an unexpected gustatory journey, combining freshness and finesse. An experience that tantalizes the taste buds and invites you to discover a unique terroir.
The Drôme wine route also offers a number of tourist attractions. In Bollène, for example, you can visit the collegiate church of Saint-Martin, in Bouchet, the Cistercian abbey, and in Barry, a troglodyte village.
TheAbbaye du Barroux, nestled in Provence, is famous for its monastic jams, among other things. Crafted with passion by the nuns, these delicacies reflect the terroir of Provence. Just 24 km from Nyons, the small village of Saint-May is becoming a must-see destination for nature and wildlife lovers. It’s here, in the steep cliffs and open skies of the Drôme Provençale, that vultures make their home, offering visitors a truly breathtaking natural spectacle. France’s four species of vulture – the griffon, black vulture, Egyptian vulture and bearded vulture – can be seen soaring gracefully through the skies or nesting on rocky escarpments.

The most beautiful walks in the Drôme
The Drôme is a paradise for hikers. With its well-marked trails and exceptional panoramas, it offers an unrivalled hiking experience.
- Montagne de l’Essaillon: an invitation to soar above the valley. Each step brings you closer to breathtaking panoramas, where the Baronnies hills loom on the horizon, offering an unforgettable natural spectacle.
- The Col d’Aubenas: starting from Nyons, this loop takes you through winding paths, with a rewarding climb that offers panoramic views of the region.
- Le Saint-Jaume and Garde Grosse: these two natural gems are not to be missed. The trails wind through lush vegetation and offer views of wild, unspoilt landscapes.
- Tour du Cougoir from Aubres: this hike plunges you into the rural charm of the Drôme. Aubres, with its authentic character, is the starting point for an exploration that blends nature and history.

Stretching over 33.4 km with a vertical drop of 960 m, this route offers technical descents and demanding climbs, all enhanced by breathtaking panoramas of the Baronnies. In the same vein, the Circuit de Découverte des Baronnies provençales plunges cyclists into the heart of varied terrain, from dense forests to rocky ridges, over a distance of 38 km.
For those who prefer a more leisurely stroll, the Au fil de l’Eygues circuit is ideal. Following the gentle course of the River Eygues for 15 km, this trail is perfect for a family outing or for beginners. Likewise, the Old Railway Route offers a 14 km historic walk through the Provencal countryside, recalling the days when trains criss-crossed the region.
The Circuit Autour de Nyons is an invitation to discover the local beauty. For 16.7 km, cyclists can admire olive groves, vineyards and charming hilltop villages. For those looking for a little more challenge, the Montagne de Garde Grosse and Essaillon circuits and the Tour de la Montagne de Vaux offer challenging climbs and thrilling descents over distances of 16 km and 21.5 km respectively.
Fishing at Lac le Pas des Ondes
For fishing enthusiasts, Lac le Pas des Ondes is a haven of peace in an enchanting setting. Rich in fish, it’s the ideal place to spend a quiet day with your fishing rod. At the end of the hook, chub, carp and trout from the Baronnies Provençales!
